About us ...

The objective of The Nottingham Blues Society is to enhance the profile of Blues Music in Nottinghamshire.

The intention is to enrol fans of Blues Music to the Society and inform them of what is happening in the county of Nottinghamshire, whether it is blues in Pubs, Clubs, Village Halls, Concert Halls or Festivals.

As the Society develops it is hoped we can take the history of Blues Music to local schools and colleges.

A Blues Society for Nottinghamshire ...

Nottingham in central England is conveniently situated to host blues music from both the north and south.

For many years venues in Nottingham have been delighting audiences with a huge variety of blues performances from both famous and lesser known up-and-coming artists. However due to the recession, pub closures, etc. it has become somewhat fragmented.

A small group of like-minded people have decided to form The Nottingham Blues Society in order to keep the blues alive and kicking in Nottinghamshire. We intend to do this by promoting, educating and showcasing the blues in the Nottingham area.

Whilst rooted in Nottingham this society will be open to blues lovers from everywhere around the UK and beyond.

The British Blues Awards presentation will be hosted by The Newark Blues Festival

Who can join ...

Membership is open to everyone. If you are a venue or a festival organiser, if you teach music, if you play the Blues or are a fan of Blues music, the society is for you.

The newly formed Nottingham Blues Society aims "To promote blues music throughout the county of Nottinghamshire, through education of its history and live performances"
