The format has stayed more or less the same over the years; people start coming in from about 8.30 to let Colin know that they want to play. All you need to do then is wait your turn, plug in your instrument and play some blues…
The house band start up at around 9.30 and do about half an hour of excellent (and I do mean excellent…) Chicago blues to get the evening off with a swing.
After that, the rest of us sort out a succession of line-ups, each of which gets up to do three numbers. Colin usually finishes off the night with a varied assortment of sidemen, to make sure everyone gets a go…
From Wednesday October 6th 2010 the weekly Blues Jam will be held at The Salutation on Maid Marian Way, right in the middle of the City of Nottingham.
PA, back line and drum kit provided – bring your own guitar etc
Colin has run a blues jam in Nottingham every week for over 20 years…Mostly at the Running Horse (R.I.P.) but it’s moved about a bit in recent years.
